Zoom video conferencing is like many other cloud based online meetings. The virtual background is an extremely cool feature and can be very helpful if you don’t have an ideal place to setup up your computer at home. One caveat to using the virtual background is that your computer will need to meet or exceed Zoom application specs. Additionally smartphones and tablets are unable to utilize this feature as of now.
Here is how to enable a Zoom virtual background during your meeting from a desktop or laptop computer:
- In a Zoom meeting click the ^ arrow next to Start/Stop Video.
- Click Choose a virtual background
- Select Virtual Background, then tap the background you would like, then tap Done.
You can also upload your own background by clicking on the small + icon. Use an image that is at least 1920 x 1080. You can also upload a short video clip loop if you like, although this can use a lot of computer processing power, so be sure to take that into consideration.
Now that you know how to select a Zoom virtual background, try experimenting with different images or even creating a profession background in your photo editing software. The options are endless and at the very least can be a fun creative activity to do during this period of down time.
